Interviews with Green Building Professionals: Madeline Smith, Clayco

Today, Green Badger is featuring green building superhero Madeline Smith at Clayco who we have had the pleasure of working with over the past few years!

Madeline Smith works for Clayco, a design build firm, supporting the enterprise in their sustainable mission. Madeline manages the sustainable group within the QA/QC team, the Technical Assurance Group. Clayco has many subsidiaries, including a design-firm (LJC), real-estate development firm (CRG), and a high-performing curtain wall installation company.

Madeline’s team helps educate and find innovative solutions for clients’ sustainable goals for all Clayco subsidiaries. Services include third party certifications such as LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL and Fitwel, in addition to energy conservation and overall sustainable design and construction consulting.

What was your first green building or LEED project?

Washington University Rubelmann House

What’s been the coolest green feature or project you’ve been involved with?

The co-generation facility at Zurich North American Headquarters.

What’s one way that Green Badger has simplified LEED for your team at Clayco?
