E+E Leader Awards Green Badger and Suffolk for Collaboration In Sustainable Construction

Sometimes 1+1 really can make three … or more!

And we are absolutely thrilled and honored to share that, today on Earth Day, Green Badger and Suffolk have won a 2026 Environment + Energy Leader Award for our five+ years of collaboration!

It’s our second from the E+E Leader Awards, which evaluate true, measurable business impact across environmental leadership, and their independent judges recognized our partnership for delivering results that are truly greater than the sum of their parts.

More Than Just Software

Suffolk—one of America’s most innovative builders—is a powerhouse with over $10 billion in annual revenue and 3,500 employees, managing some of the most sophisticated projects across the nation. When an organization like Suffolk targets green certifications for more than 70 percent of its projects, they need serious, scalable efficiency.

Since 2021, our relationship has evolved from solving project-specific problems into a strategic enterprise alliance. Suffolk leverages a brilliant “Sustainability-as-a-Service” model, centralizing support to ensure their remote project teams are perfectly set up for success. They lead the on-site execution and strategic vision with their “Build Smart” ethos, while Green Badger provides the technological backbone and certification expertise. Together, we have transformed the LEED process from a time-consuming burden into a clear strategic advantage.

Real-World Impact on the Green Jobsite

This isn’t just about winning awards; it’s about the very real, on-the-ground impact we have made together across 24 Suffolk construction projects nationwide.

Take the iconic 100,000-square-foot studio and office renovation Suffolk is managing in Southern California. Michael Swenson, their Director of Sustainability, brought Green Badger in during pre-construction. By optimizing engineering systems and reviewing specs early, the team was able to provide the client with highly accurate, real-time tracking of the cost and impact of different LEED credits. No late surprises after the building is done—just transparent, proactive collaboration.

Then look at Parcel 12 in Boston—an incredible mixed-use development built right over I-90. Project Engineer Alec Prefontaine was tackling LEED certification for the very first time. By tapping into Green Badger’s massive database of low-impact materials and our intuitive visual dashboards, Alec didn’t just survive the process; he conquered it. He reported saving an estimated 60% of the time typically spent on LEED documentation! That’s 60% more time teams can spend building and innovating rather than hunting down miscellaneous product data.

Accelerating Decarbonization Together

Mixing Suffolk’s deep commitment to sustainability with Green Badger’s vision for accessible contech has created an incredible collision of insights. Their field teams pilot our new features, and that real-world feedback loops directly back to us, making our software even better for the entire industry.

Our collaboration proves that managing sustainability goals doesn’t have to be hard if you have the right tools in your belt. This award from E+E Leader is great, but we’re most proud to be helping Suffolk mitigate risk, hit its net-zero goals, and scale their environmental impact with less hassle.
