LEED v5 Starts Earlier: From Assessment to Action
Wednesday, December 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET
The biggest change in LEED v5 may not be what the credits require, but when. Every project now has to assess climate risk, human impact, and carbon at the start, then use those findings to set goals. Treat the assessments as a late checkbox and you give up a valuable planning tool, and you may put your certification at risk.
This free webinar goes beyond an overview of the requirements to show how teams put the Integrative Process assessments into practice. Dave Hubka (LEED Fellow, EUA) and Tommy Linstroth (LEED Fellow, founder and CEO of Green Badger) will walk from first assessment to a preliminary scorecard.
Specific topics will include:
- The assessments that come first: Climate Resilience (IPp1) and Human Impact (IPp2)
- A live demo of Green Badger’s free Site Signal tool, producing both assessments for a sample site
- What “where possible” really means: What GBCI actually requires in terms of the assessments’ impact on design
- From findings to goals: Connecting the results to the three v5 impact areas (decarbonization, quality of life, and ecological conservation and restoration), and to the goal-setting in IPc1
- From goals to a scorecard: Using the analysis to build the project’s preliminary LEED v5 scorecard
- Timing: How to begin v5 when an owner decides to pursue LEED late in the game
- Bonus: Identifying your project’s Regional Priority credits from the assessment results
Learning objectives. Participants will be able to:
- Produce Climate Resilience and Human Impact Assessments using Green Badger’s Site Signal
- Interpret assessment results and develop a preliminary LEED v5 scorecard
- Connect findings to LEED v5’s three impact areas
- Identify available Regional Priority credits
